Broom Play is a one-act tragicomedy about two men, Jerryll and Harr’, who return each day to the same filthy room to do the same work. They clean. They argue. They remember. They wait for something neither can quite name. Every day, they fail. Rooted in eccentric clowning, physical action, absurdist argument, and moments of unexpected tenderness, the play becomes a funny, unsettling portrait of lives caught in repetition and of the fragile hope that tomorrow might finally be different.

Nodding to Beckett, Ionesco, and the European tradition of the Theater of the Absurd, Broom Play speaks to the overwhelming desire for a radical turn in life, the general apathy that prevents meaningful change, and the simultaneous longing for and fear of freedom. We live in an incredibly absurd time, where the comic, frightening, and tragic have become the invisible air we breathe. This production is an attempt to catch that air.
