In Chekhov’s Three Sisters, time does not simply pass — it accumulates. Dreams of Moscow, promises of change, and the possibility of a different life hover over the Prozorov household, but every year that passes makes those dreams feel both more necessary and more unreachable.

This production approached Three Sisters as a play about waiting inside historical transition. Set against the emotional atmosphere of post-Soviet uncertainty, the world of the play became one where old structures have collapsed, new values have not yet settled, and everyone is trying to survive the feeling that life is happening somewhere else.

At the center of the production was not one single protagonist, but time itself: how it changes people, corrodes hope, sharpens desire, and quietly rearranges the meaning of home. The sisters’ longing for Moscow became less a geographical wish than a spiritual condition — the belief that somewhere, somehow, there must be a version of life more vivid than the one they have been given.
